Hey All,
This is actually Seth masquerading as Brian, to let you know that the Digital Blog is being rolled into the mighty unified Capcom blog, which lives HERE:
blog.capcom.com
There’s actually two really sweet new posts up just today, including the first of a long series from David Sirlin detailing the balance changes, as well as a BIG one from Rey Jimenez on everyone’s favorite subject: the art!
Please update your bookmarks, feeds, etc., accordingly. We’ll be maintaining this page for archival purposes, but all new info will live on blog.capcom.com, with updates also posted on www.capcom-unity.com as usual.
best,
Seth

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) recently announced their winners for the 2007 British Academy Video Games Awards. Our own Okami came away as the winner for Artistic Achievement as well for Original Score. All this, and soon you will be able to play Okami the way it was intended to be played, on the Wii!
Via Gamasutra.
First it was a Phoenix Wright parody, now its Guile, of Street Fighter fame, making a surprise cameo appearance in the super cute anime, Lucky Star.
My question is, why didn’t Guile fight back at all? Anyways, excuse me, as I have to go hug my Guile plushy now.
GameInformer has posted their 2-part interview with Ben Judd, producer of Bionic Commando. Besides talking about Bionic Commando, Ben actually shares his non-traditional path into the gaming industry, which may be of particular interest to many of you, since one of the most common questions we often get is, “How do I get a job in the gaming industry?”
Game Informer: For the readers who don’t know the real Ben Judd, can you explain how you got started at Capcom and what you used to do before you started work with this game?
Ben Judd: It was actually an interesting story. I was living and working in Japan as an English teacher, and they hired me into Capcom USA from Japan, which is kind of strange because they had maybe 25 or 30 different candidates and they chose me – and I was certainly not the cheapest person, because they had to hire me all the way from Japan to the U.S. I worked there for a year as a marketing specialist, which meant that I would interpret and translate for most of the business meetings, at the PR events and whenever people like yourself would come over and there were ROMs that were all in Japanese, I would sort of walk people through that. It was a really nice job at first, but after about a year
Be sure to read both Part 1 and Part 2 to get the full interview!

I’m pretty excited about today’s SFHD update. Rey has given me some early work-in-progress screenshots of the game. By “work-in-progress,” I mean these screenshots do NOT reflect how the final game will look exactly, but they should give you a pretty good idea. So please keep that in mind when you are viewing them. In his written update, Rey talks about the look of the characters, UI, and also clarifies the issue of which version of the game SFHD is being based on.

We recently let the world know that Okami is finally coming to the Wii, where many fans believe Okami belongs. Ready At Dawn, the guys behind the PSP version of God of War, has been brought on to do the port. To find out more about the project, IGN interviewed Didier Malenfant, the president of Ready At Dawn.
What new content appears in the game, compared to the PS2 version?
Didier Malenfant: The game on Wii is going to be an exact port of the PS2 version and I think that’s what fans of the franchise want to see. This game has such a huge following throughout the world that people would probably send us death-threats if we messed it up by trying to add things that don’t have their place in the Okami universe. Being huge fans of the franchise ourselves, we made sure that Capcom also wanted to stay true to the original before signing on to do this.

Gametrailers interview with Christian Svensson, Senior Director of Strategic Planning & Research. Sven drops some hints about SFIV as well as lots of juicy nuggets about the fan-driven Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix project.
Interview
In addition to the info about the games, the underlying message SHOULD NOT be missed: Almost every aspect of the new Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD remix has been directly affected by YOU—the fans and players. Decisions about the game at every level (including whether or not it should even exist!) were shaped by the voice of the player community and direct feedback from the Capcom Forums, and have helped to make the game totally amazing.
This is an important lesson for SF4. Making your voice heard here means having a chance to shape the future of your favorite titles. Join the SFIV discussion here!

IGN has always been one of the biggest supporters of Zack & Wiki since the beginning, even starting a “Buy Zack & Wiki” hype-campaign. On the eve of “Z-Dub’s” release, IGN finished reviewing the game just in time to give it a whopping 9 out of 10.
We’ve been running the Buy Zack & Wiki in 2007 Campaign since we first discovered the game’s appeal and now that we’ve finally quested for all of Barbaros’ treasure, we can definitively state that Z-Dub belongs in your library.
Indeed, Z-Dub presents some of the smartest and most rewarding challenges in any adventure game we’ve ever played and it’s for this very reason that you will appreciate the title.
Not only did they have kind words for the game, to further stress their campaign, they dedicated their latest IGN Toons to Zack & Wiki as well.
Just a pointer to a Kotaku story repeating what everybody here at Capcom HQ already knows: solving the Zack and Wiki puzzles is really, really fun—especially in a group.
