I assume you have already seen the video of some of the new multiplayer stages the team is working on in Osaka. If you haven’t, you can check it out below.
Well, today we are announcing that our first multiplayer map pack, featuring ”Radar Field” and ”Island 902,” will be available around March 9 (same time as the multiplayer update) on Marketplace for a price of 400 points. Other maps are definitely in the works, as seen in the video, and we’ll be announcing and showing those as soon as we can.
Click through to see the video of the new multiplayer maps (including a special sneak peek of one that is new and won’t be out for a while).

Lost Planet’s sound production team was recently nominated for a Golden Reel Award in the “Best Sound Editing Made for Computer Entertainment” category. The awards are put on by the Motion Picture Sound Editors association. Basically this is an Academy Award for sound design.
The awards are going to be held on Saturday, February 24.

This video footage, showing exclusive new footage of some of the multiplayer maps in the works, was recently made public in Japan. The first map is Battleground, which people who purchased the Collector’s Edition of the game have already been enjoying. But the video features 3 new never-before-seen maps beyond that.
Post a comment and let me know what you think of the new maps.

Now that I have done my last (?) developer interview for the blog, I have a special treat for you in the form of a photo tour through the Lost Planet development team studios at our headquarters in Osaka, Japan. This is my “thank you” to all of you supporting the blog by coming back and reading it (and posting comments!). It’s also a big “arigato!” from the Lost Planet team to all the fans of the game.
There’s a ton of pictures to share, so I’ll divide this into 3 parts, all this week. Monday (today) is Part 1, and I will be putting up Part 2 on Wednesday and Part 3 on Friday.
Today we’ll take a look into the art, cinematics, and design areas of the team. Wednesday we’ll see the programmers, localization team, and the sound designers. Friday will be the “special thanks” crew, as well as Takeuchi-san (the Director) and Inafune-san (Executive Producer).

To finish off my string of exclusive developer interviews with a bang, I bring you my conversation with none other than Mr. Keiji Inafune himself. He’s been at Capcom for 20 years. His very first creation at Capcom was Mega Man, or Rock Man in Japan (which means Mega Man is 20 years old this year!), and he has continued to make hit after hit. He is now higher up in the food chain at Capcom, and for Lost Planet he acted as Executive Producer.
Below is my interview with Inafune-san, conducted over lunch on the day of the Lost Planet launch event.
[Brian] Do you have any goals or New Year’s resolutions for 2007?[Keiji Inafune] Yeah, overall for Capcom, since I’m working more on managing development overall rather than being too hands-on with any particular title, my goal for this year is basically to improve the working conditions for all our talented development staff.
Here is a list of cheat codes for Lost Planet, as well as some cool interactive stuff found in the game. This gives you a chance to play through the game again and unlock more Target Marks while you check out all the codes.
Here are the details for the new update going live on or around March 9. Much of this is due to feedback from you, the fans, about how to make the game better and more user-friendly. So thank all of you, because you are what make the Lost Planet community great!
