We’re currently conducting a survey to gather your opinions on Lost Planet multiplayer. This data will directly feed into the direction of Lost Planet going forward, so I hope you can take a minute and help us out.

The very first downloadable map pack for Lost Planet is out! For 400 MS points you get 2 new maps, Radar Field and Island 902.

Here’s a video that shows these new maps along with some others that are coming soon. Radar Field of course features the massive radar. Island 902 is the last one on the video, with the aircraft carrier and submarine.

See you online!

Lost Planet Xbox 360 online multiplayer Data PostYou may have noticed the new Data Post tag on the Lost Planet Community page. This has been in the works for a while, and I’m glad to finally be able to talk about it.

Basically the Data Post section is the hub for stat tracking online. Currently up and running is the leaderboards, which can be viewed per country. We’re in sort of a beta stage right now, so there will be some great new features and sections rolled out as soon as they are ready to go public. Which should be soon. Plus, since this is an ongoing process for us, we look forward to your feedback as to what kinds of features and functionality you want to see. Just head over to our forums to give us your thoughts.

After downloading the new multiplayer update this week, a small number of users have reported that they are no longer able to join and play online games after downloading the update. We are extremely sorry that this has happened and are working hard to find the cause and fix this problem. We have been researching this issue and tracking user feedback and data, as has the development team over in Japan. Feedback from users on our forums and elsewhere, as well as contact to our customer support team, has been a great help in this regard.

Although there is no official word yet, Whitby69 (thanks!) over on the Xbox.com forums has discovered, with the help of Microsoft UK, a potential workaround for this issue. We have found it to work with the systems we have checked, so we are suggesting this as a temporary workaround until we can figure out exactly what is causing this issue.

To see the steps to try the fix out, go HERE.

Your feedback helps us immensely (most of the previous updates and changes to the game are based directly on feedback from the users), so please feel free to post comments, how it worked or if it didn’t work, on that thread or in the comments section here for this post.

Thanks!

EDIT:
Apparently the above fix works for some people and not others. Another thing that people have noted and mentioned is that they can get into and play matches if they join hosts with 5 or less players in the lobby when they join. If there are more players in the lobby than that, they usually get disconnected. So if all else fails, try to join matches where there are only a few players in the lobby. Hopefully that will work and get you through the weekend. We will be monitoring this issue over the weekend, and hopefully the dev team in Japan will have a better idea about what is going on by next week. Thanks for continuing to bear with us.

The update for Lost Planet is out! And it’s early (originally it wasn’t supposed to be out till the 9th)! Plus, we’ve drastically changed the scoring for Fugitive matches due to sneaky players simply using Fugitive as a quick way to pad their score, because they lack the true skillz to get points fair and square.

Remember that aside from bug fixes, all of the updates and additions are based on user feedback from fans like you, in our Lost Planet forums and elsewhere. So, THANK YOU for helping us make Lost Planet even better!
