So, the new maps are out today!!! What do you think of them? I donwloaded them late last night, but haven’t played them yet. I neglected to bring my system into work today, but the usual suspects here in the office have been playing on and off all afternoon (in semi-private matches with some of our favorite LP buddies from the forums).
I can’t wait to hop on tonight and check out the new maps for myself.

We’re currently conducting a survey to gather your opinions on Lost Planet multiplayer. This data will directly feed into the direction of Lost Planet going forward, so I hope you can take a minute and help us out.

You may have noticed the new Data Post tag on the Lost Planet Community page. This has been in the works for a while, and I’m glad to finally be able to talk about it.
Basically the Data Post section is the hub for stat tracking online. Currently up and running is the leaderboards, which can be viewed per country. We’re in sort of a beta stage right now, so there will be some great new features and sections rolled out as soon as they are ready to go public. Which should be soon. Plus, since this is an ongoing process for us, we look forward to your feedback as to what kinds of features and functionality you want to see. Just head over to our forums to give us your thoughts.

Now that I have done my last (?) developer interview for the blog, I have a special treat for you in the form of a photo tour through the Lost Planet development team studios at our headquarters in Osaka, Japan. This is my “thank you” to all of you supporting the blog by coming back and reading it (and posting comments!). It’s also a big “arigato!” from the Lost Planet team to all the fans of the game.
There’s a ton of pictures to share, so I’ll divide this into 3 parts, all this week. Monday (today) is Part 1, and I will be putting up Part 2 on Wednesday and Part 3 on Friday.
Today we’ll take a look into the art, cinematics, and design areas of the team. Wednesday we’ll see the programmers, localization team, and the sound designers. Friday will be the “special thanks” crew, as well as Takeuchi-san (the Director) and Inafune-san (Executive Producer).

I just wanted to extend my deep gratitude on behalf of the whole Capcom team to the couple at the launch event last night who were wonderful enough to notify us of a certain situation. You know who you are. If you read this, please contact me as we would like to extend our thanks to you directly.

Lost Planet will have been out in Japan for about a month by the time it ships in the West. Even when I log on at night, which would be morning to around noon-time in Japan, there are plenty of people on during the week.
So when you go online, chances are you’ll end up in a match with at least a few Japanese players. So, your favorite Lost Planet blogger (ME!), who also happens to be a translator at Capcom, is here to teach you some words and phrases to help you communicate with your teammates, and even do a little trash-talking if you feel so inclined.

Today I go from Capcom’s Resdient Blogger to Capcom’s Resident Blogger Slash Supermodel.
We got our “uniforms” for Thursday’s launch event this afternoon, and everyone else was too afraid to model for me. So I bit the bullet, modeled the shirts myself (thanks, Scarlett, for taking the pictures!), and cut off my own head to bring them to you.
