Next Thursday, June 21, Lost Planet will see a brand new map pack update, with 3 new maps in Map Pack #3. Map Pack #1 gave us Radar Field and Island 902, while Map Pack #2 gave us Trial Point and Hive Complex. Well, now you’ll have 3 more amazing maps to play around in. Even if I didn’t work for Capcom, I’d still think that the multiplayer map designs are some of the absolute coolest I’ve seen on any console game. And with Map Pack #3, it gets even better.
Click through to see screenshots and videos of the three new maps.
In case you haven’t heard yet, the next two downloadable maps for Lost Planet are coming this Friday, April 6. Just like the first map pack, this pack of 2 maps will be available for 400 MS points.
You may have seen some video of the first map, Hive Complex. This map puts you on a cool island with waterfalls, rope bridges, and mine shafts inside a mountain to explore.
The second map is Trial Point, based on the Capcom building in Osaka, Japan. You can even see the city outside the windows!
Hopefully I’ll see you online this weekend playing the new maps!

This video footage, showing exclusive new footage of some of the multiplayer maps in the works, was recently made public in Japan. The first map is Battleground, which people who purchased the Collector’s Edition of the game have already been enjoying. But the video features 3 new never-before-seen maps beyond that.
Post a comment and let me know what you think of the new maps.

As of today, you will be able to see the Lost Planet theatrical trailer on the big screen once again. It will be running for the next two weeks ahead of PG-13 and R movies across the US. You can check it out in all the major theater chains (Regal, AMC, Cinemark, United Artists) and a number of regional ones as well.
Lost Planet’s not out for another week, so you have a week to go see it before you become a slave to Lost Planet multiplayer. ;D

So you saw the theatrical trailer for Lost Planet in the theater a few weeks ago, and earlier this week you downloaded it to your 360 from Marketplace (and did this to Microsoft’s servers). Now the trailer is available on GameTrailers.com, in both HD and low-res versions, for you to watch on your computer over and over and over. They also have a bunch of other Lost Planet videos, and some cool Capcom vids as well.

This morning I was informed by Charles, who was rather a bit too giddy to share the news, that there have been so many people trying to download the theatrical trailer (produced by Hollywood-based Trailer Park) that it overloaded Microsoft’s Xbox Live servers. Yes, we are gloating. I know it sucks for you if you were trying to download it and couldn’t. But it’s great news for us in I guess a twisted sort of way. Guwahaha. :>>

In case you missed it at the theater, or just want to check it out again, maybe on your fancy boomin’ surround sound rig, the full 60-second theatrical trailer that graced big screens across the country is coming to Xbox Live Marketplace early tomorrow morning. So now you’ll be able to download it and watch it over and over to your heart’s content. And if you don’t have a fancy boomin’ surround sound rig, you’ll definitely want to get one before LP drops in January. Christmas is coming up, so it’s perfect timing!

This blog will feature a look behind the scenes at the development of the game, and exclusive content you won't find anywhere else, or at least not before you see it here.
